Barista Manager

HAVEN Coffee is looking for a socially conscious Barista Manager to join a small team.

HAVEN Coffee is a social enterprise founded in 2019 with a mission of serving fair-trade, ethically sourced, and organic specialty cup of coffee to local communities while also having a social mission of breaking the false narratives surrounding refugees with the help of both visual and performing arts.

Job description:

We are looking for an experienced Barista for our café in Walthamstow.

You will be responsible for:

 

  • Opening and closing of the shop

  • Giving some basic barista training.

  • Taking orders, preparing drinks & Toasties, and serving customers

  • Engaging with customers to build the brand loyalty and awareness

  • Keeping the shop tidy and clean all the time.

  • Managing a team member.

  • Receiving deliveries of milk, coffee, and other café items.

  • End of the day cash count and tally with the sales.

  • Any other general tasks that arise during a typical workday

*Experience and skills required *

  • Experience working as a Barista in a specialty café

  • Full understanding of different coffee drinks and ability to make them.

  • Full understanding of the dial-in process and ability to make consistent drinks daily

  • Great Customer Service skills

  • Problem Solver and someone who can take initiative

  • Good English Language skills

  • Team player

  • An interest in social change especially in the refugee sector (Desirable)

Pay Rate: £10.85 p/h increasing to £11 an hour after 8 weeks of trial.


Hours: 15 hours initially on a weekly rota with weekend work and a chance to increase in the future.

The person will need to be self-employed and will be responsible for their own tax.
